PETG Filament

PETG, or polyethylene terephthalate glycol, is a thermoplastic polyester that is known for its increased strength (impact resistance), flexibility, and durability over PLA, making it one of the strongest filament choices. In addition it has a high temperature and UV light resistance as well as chemical resistance making it a great choice in outdoor applications. PETG items can be displayed in a a hot car or outdoors in direct sunlight without risk of it deforming or warping, withstanding temperatures up to 175-185 degrees Fahrenheit (80-85 degrees Celsius).

Visually PETG is glossy/shiny in appearance. In most instances it appears translucent with exception of darker colors and white. While this may make some items look more appealing it can also highlight layer lines and infill patterns of some designs.

When choosing the type of filament for your order we recommend PLA for items that will be used exclusively indoors and do not need the added strength or flexibility of PETG. If you are in doubt please feel free to contact us and we can guide you through your choice.
