PLA Filament
PLA (Polylactic acid) filament is one of the more popular choices for 3D printing applications. PLA is a thermoplastic is a plant-based material made from carbohydrates such as corn starch and sugar cane making it environmentally friendly.
PLA is one of the more rigid filaments and has both decent strength and produces minimal warping throughout the printing process. However, due to it’s rigidity items printed in PLA will have minimal flexibility. If flexibility is a requirement of your item please purchase said item in PETG. if you are unsure of your needs please feel free to contact us to walk you through your options. Additionally please use the same caution should you need your items to be UV/Outdoor/Moisture friendly as PLA has a low heat and moisture resistance.
PLA can be found in both matte, semi-gloss, glossy finishes as well as translucent, carbon fiber, glow-in the dark, UV color change, metal, and wood finishes. Color options also range from single color filament to both dual and tri-colored filaments. Rapid color change Ombre filaments are also available. Multi-color and Ombre filament colors may vary from project to project depending on what stage of the color the spool is in. For example, a Pink Ombre PLA filament bleeds from light to dark pink.
